The ReelOzInd! Retrospective 2016-2019 makes it easy to #stayhome over Ramadan

Like many arts and culture organisations and festivals around the world in these extraordinary past few weeks, the ReelOzInd! team has been asking: What can we do?

As the COVID-19 pandemic brings an unprecedented global health emergency and economic shutdown and we find ourselves in isolation, ReelOzInd! Festival Director Jemma Purdey and the Australia-Indonesia Centre invite you to #stayhome (#dirumahaja) for our virtual short film festival the ReelOzInd! Retrospective 2016-2019.

Head straight to Youtube for the screening (but you’ll have to wait!)

To entertain those of us staying at home this Ramadan, ReelOzInd! will host Retrospective screenings of its Festival Reels from 2016 to 2019 across four Fridays from 24 April to 15 May. The films will premiere at 6pm AEST / 15:00 WIB. The Festival Reels feature the short films judged best from each year.

The Festival Reels will be available for viewing on our website via our YouTube channel (@ausindcentre) and Facebook page. They will each remain ‘live’ for one week only. Normally screened as part of the live Pop-up Travelling Festival, this will be the first time the films have been made available online in this format – they only be available for viewing for one week only.

The ReelOzInd! community of filmmakers is now over 100 strong and we can’t wait to celebrate our story so far with all of them, and all of our supporters in this our fifth anniversary year.

We hope you are as excited as we are. We know that the arts and culture are so important for bringing light and hope to people at what is indeed a dark and worrying time for all.

Please, join us online over the next four Fridays to watch @TogetherAtHome, and please spread the word. Poster for the first instalment is below.
